We were supposed to get thunderstorms today but in fact, this afternoon has actually got better as it has gone on. There is still a lot of cloud around, but also some decent sunny spells as well and not even as much as a light passing shower to be seen, let alone any thunderstorms.
The only surprising fact about today is that a total of just 2.1 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon since today seems like a day which deserves a much better sunshine total than that.
However, today's maximum temperature was 21.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 22°C at Edinburgh Airport and 22.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which once again, makes today the warmest day of this month so far.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 20.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 21°C at Edinburgh Airport and 20.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
So much then, for that yellow warning for thunderstorms which is supposed to be in place for here just now!!
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
