Not much has been happening during the last few days whilst I have been away from this forum, as far as the weather in this part of the world is concerned.
There has been been very little in the way of sunshine over the last few days but even though we did get a bit more sunshine during today, a total of just 2.2 had been recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank and despite the run of really sunny days which we had during last week, this month is now shaping up to be duller than average overall in this part of the world as things stand just now.
Nevertheless, there had also been nothing in the way of rainfall over the last few days until this season when a torrential down and a number of showers resulted a total of 5.6 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 9pm this evening along with 1.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This means that today will now as a result, go down as an official rain day at both of those stations.
Today's maximum temperature was 16.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 9pm this evening was around 11°C.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
