Crazy!

Indeed Rob, since before the christmas break we have had large periods without either of our first choice centre backs, we have lost two of our main goal threats and have played the last 4 games without a recognised forward. However, with some of the supporters  up here, the fact that Bruce is a Geordie just can't be forgiven so facts need not get in the way of prejudice

Well at least you've had goal threats. I only wish we had this season.

Well you shouldn't have sold Darren Bent either than

Well, I for one am very proud of Tottenham's performances this season.  Yes, we have lacked a real goal scorer and have had some disappointing results of late but boy oh boy did we entertain in the Champions League and despite not winning much of late we have impressed against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City.  A bit more luck, better officiating, a fully fit Bale and a new striker (or two) and we could be decent challengers for the title next season, especially as we won't have the distraction of the Champions League!!

P.S.  Good luck Utd and Stoke in your forthcoming finals!!

Fair post Karl.... i have enjoyed watching Spurs this season as they have played some entertaining football. Maybe one or two assured purchases will see Spurs press for a CL place next season. Bale needs to stay fit and also put in performaces week in week out, he seems to go missing too aften.

I think Bale will need to step up next season. Against top opposition he may well begin to struggle. He is in the same mould as Giggs, adn if he can adapt his game into a similar vein, then he may become as successful as the great man himself. He will continue to terrorise full-backs who lack pace, but show him on to his weaker foot or man mark him and he becomes far less effective, instead trying to win free kicks.

Part of Bale's problem is he goes down too easily looking for the foul (yes the Charlie Adam tackle was pretty bad) and refs have now wised up to his antics. Modric, to a lesser extent, is the same.

As Gallas said yesterday, Spurs went into games with so-called lesser teams thinking they'd already won. Now it has come back to bite the team on the bum.

Which gets me to my final point. In many ways the most valuable player for Spurs is Sandro - strong, tough, runs all day and is ready to get on with the game, rather than lying in a heap looking forlornly at the ref. We need a few more Sandros, who have the right attitude and are willing to fight for the cause every EPL game.

Tempting fate I know, given we're playing the Bindippers shortly, but apart from his game against Bolton he has done little wrong in the league this season, which is why he is rapidly turning into a fans' favourite.

Bale has struggled at times due to Spurs having less of a threat on the right when Lennon is injured/off form, and the opposition is able to concentrate on nullifying Bale without having to worry about an attack from the other flank.

I think Spurs will face a battle to keep hold of Sandro, with some big European clubs sniffing round.

They've had a strikeforce disrupted by injury, but Redknapp's use of the strikers at his disposal has been puzzling at times (quite what Robbie Keane's done to upset him is a mystery, but his lengthy spells out of the team in the first half of the season have effectively ended his career as a top flight player, because on his showings for WHU, his match fitness and, perhaps, mental motivation seem to have deserted him totally)

Overall, Spurs have done better this season than I thought they would. Although I think I tipped them for 6th or 7th place before the season, their efforts in the ECL (their first time) and up until recently in the League have to be applauded. Could even still end up with the booby prize of 5th place.

Comment about 'Arry on the Spurs board. Sums it up.

Here is the latest form guide. Quite frankly, it makes for abysmal reading.

Blackburn currently 1-0 up against Man Utd, unfortunately it won't stay that way and United will be crowned champions in just over half an hour.

It sounds like a cracking game between Blackpool and Bolton, currently 3-3.

No virtual now.

Welcome to Elland Road, Ashton Gate etc. You'll remember what football was really about before the thieves took it away from you.

I do hope that Wigan stay up. Not because I love them but because I don't want to dilute the passion of the Championship.

Quite. Back to 7k crowds for Wigan next season if they're down. The most insignificant  team to ever 'grace' the Prem, and yes, I do include Swindon in that believe it or not

England one of three countries officially allocated an extra spot next season under UEFA's fair play rules. If Liverpool finish fifth the extra place would go to Spurs, based on the current table. I never thought I'd say this but we now need to finish fifth.

That's because the poor sods qualifying for the tournament through the dubious 'fair play' back door will have to assemble their players in SIX BLOODY WEEKS. Totally insane.

Shows what a sorry competition the CL is. Champions? It's largely full of teams that couldn't win a trophy at everyone wins a trophy day

It's the Europa League that the extra spot is for. The CL is brilliant!

Doesn't detract from the fact it's not a league of Champions. Arsenal? Chelsea? Spurs this season? Man City???..

I suppose not if you want to take the literal definition of champions. The problem is that just including the winners of each league would mean losing some brilliant teams. Nothing matches (for me anyway) the feeling of playing in Europe. I love European nights, nothing like them!

Off topic but I just remembered when Liverpool didn't make the champions league:

"Liverpool hasn't lost the champions league, the champions league has lost Liverpool."

That's why it's the European city of self indulgence. Only Cornwall can rival it for anally thinking they are some sort of special place within the UK.
