Did a calculation based on 06z GFS max-mins which suggested we’d end up on 16.85C by 30th but today has been warmer than expected in the CET stations. So 17 could still be on.

That "just" is doing a lot of work!

The remaining days (including today) need to average 17.7 or more to get to that 17 (as opposed to 16.9x).

Easy enough today and tomorrow, but after that it'll be much harder.

It'll be close though, either way!

Totally agree!  Been fantastic here and it definitely deserves to be up there with a title!  👍  It’s totally blown my guess out of the water but I’ll take it on the chin for good weather!

Yes, I think we're going to just fall short unfortunately. Most likely it will be the Stonyhurst station in Lancashire that will probably be what causes it to fall short. The only saving grace will be if the forecasted temperatures next week have been undercooked.
