Nothing special in the end once the storms made landfall over the Portsmouth/Gosport area. A few flashes & rumbles and a little rain.

More cells forming now out in the channel so a chance maybe of some more later.

Very frequent lightning approaching from the south west, we've got flashes about every 10, 20 seconds, hopefully it's the good stuff and not just high cloud sheet lightning we're used to.

Cracking storm passing at the moment, frequent fork lightning, quite high though so the thunder is not too loud, but a good show all the same, right over the house too. I've seen more coming but have to get some sleep as I'm up at 5am so going to miss the rest, sad as it's been such a long time since we had a good storm to watch.

I was woken up around 02:15 by the loudest thunder I'd heard in years so poked my head through the curtains and watched the best show of lightning and loud thunder I've seen and heard in quite a few years. After 15 minutes or so I reluctantly went back to bed and dropped back off so not sure how long it went on for.

Between about 10pm and midnight I saw some lightning but heard no thunder. Still a milestone in itself seeing the flashes.

That seems to be it thunder wise for this event.  The rest of the week is much drier though not completely according to the BBC site.

Could be some decent storms here later, currently brightening up after a cloudy and wet morning but a band of showers now forming over the Midlands and intensifying as they push North.

A few showers coming through here with a very "summery" feel to them. It feels very humid too, like it could fire off later.

The Met Office do have a few thunder symbols for this afternoon, so maybe...

A distant rumble of thunder half an hour ago but only a light shower.  I think we just got the edge. We now have a met office thunder warning for this afternoon.

Caught a bit of distant lightning in the Channel just before 9pm. By the time it past over the thunder ceased but a swift 2.8mm fell with a peak rain rate of 25.6mm/hr at 21.30 hrs

That storm skirted just NW of here, so I'd imagine Chorley took a hammering. Some deep thunder here though.

That stuff over North Wales looks interesting for here though, now.
