Aye , not gonna last is it.

Still better than what was forecast that’s for sure. Another win for the geeks. Poorly forecast by the MetO sadly.

Nice to see a bit of a winter wonderland, with further chances over the weekend.

If we can get some clear skies and temps nudge below freezing, then perhaps. Be nice if it could freeze to create a base for more at the weekend

But that only happens in fairy tales (and December 2009

Here in North Northumberland, low ground, the relentless deluge of rain turned to sleet around 7pm and now with the temp down to 0.8, dew 0.0 it looks like snow with a greyish tinge to surfaces, seems to be getting heavier too! could be an interesting sight in the morning, and lethal if it freezes.

I can believe that Save, we've dropped from 9 to 3.3 since the heavy rain passed and hour ago,

Down at sea level large flakes mixed in with the heavy rain. Quite dramatic looking. Nothing sticking as yet, of course.

Welcome to the NE!

Ditto here. A nice end to a pretty miserably dark and rainy day.

Nice to watch it all swirling around, but I doubt it will amount to much.  It isn't heavy enough here to transform everything into a winter wonderland unlike in the NW.

Grass is turning whiter as are roofs and cars but very marginal and not settling on the road and pavements.

Just recently I've been speaking to someone in Shrewsbury and she reports some snow on the ground (but nothing near to a covering).

Here in Kent it has just been wet all day, and we're still in the mild air at 9.6*C.
