Have a feeling it'll move back west away from here before it gets the chance to turn.

The MetOffice must be frantic with this from tomorrow.

They had a graphic earlier that showed over distance of 80 miles there was a temp difference of 9C!

10C to 1C. Crazy.

It’s clear somewhere tomorrow is going to hit the jackpot.

a greater risk for Wirral tomorrow - which I wasnt expecting...

Could be very exiciting on here tomorrow as we see areas in a rain to snow event...

always very exciting to watch these... that wishing and wishing for the odd snow flake, then a couple more snowflakes... then Bang - outright heavy snow...

Fingers crossed...

Will be watching the local weather stations and radar like a hawk

Radar suggests snow should be falling at the moment over a reasonable area but not much activity in the snow reports thread?

Unfair but accurate πŸ˜‰ ! These models are good at picking up UHI effects.

Not expecting anything here from this event. I think you’ll do well Tim - good luck.

Most of the time these setups aren’t kind for Glossop either if the wind direction is strong SSE. I’ve seen it plenty of times where the precipitation is too light to turn properly to snow because of the Pennine shadow affect.

This setup really favours the Buxton area and over the Snake Pass. An easy 10cm + for them tomorrow I reckon.

No good for me in Carlisle either as I’m only 20m asl. Be interesting to see how tomorrow pans out.

I’ve barely looked at this setup to be honest. But yes a strong SSE’ly is another reason for the hole in the charts over this part of the world.

Still freezing rain here. Precipitation band weakening. Not sure why I'm in an Amber snow area πŸ€”

Temp hovering around 0.8C with dew point -1C, however lots of rain and sleet, maybe the occlusion will see a change to snow, but here we are low and 10 miles from coast, you bet inland and Cheviots will get a pasting as per usual.

May actually be ok if the precipitation continues to pulse in from the NW. Tomorrow will be very interesting for some.

I'll be surprised any low ground west of Pennines getting even a temporary slushy covering.

In the past I traveled between Aberdeen and Aviemore many times skiing. Just a few miles inland it’s a different world, I’ve got caught out a few times at Cock Bridge. 😚

You wouldn’t get through today, the snow gates are closed  https://web116.secure-secure.co.uk/snowgatecameras.co.uk/strathdon/image.jpg

It’s an interesting road to drive in the snow, especially on the Aberdeenshire side of the Lecht.

Risk for both of us has been 'severely trimmed' this morning. I'm not expecting anything but a continuation of the relentless rain.
