I doubt the coast will get any. There is a little activity off the coast at the moment in this general rain band which last night was not forecast for here at all

15.4 mm of largely unexpected overnight rainfall here at this SE coast locale was hugely welcomed.

This crap looks like it's in for the day. Disappointing that it's barely fragmenting or dissipating as it pivots NW'wards (it bloody would if it were snow!! )

All the edited videos of the thunderstorms Manchester has had the last few days (that I've been able to record):

Not a drop here

Vastly more rain here overnight than I expected; just petering out now.

It looks like I will be able to avoid the daily watering can circuit for a couple of days.

Just in passing, I was told you should always water in the evening to maximise the time it can be in the ground: no significant evaporation for around 8 hours.

Just 4mm but even that wasn't expected. And no sign of the big thunderstorms at all that were meant to follow the rain today

Glad you experienced it!  We can cook up a decent storm in Notts!  We only got the thunder from that one but we got the full force of its twin on Sunday!  We’re having a day off today - no thunder here at all.

Quite a few heavy showers breaking out on the radar. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them turn thundery, especially over Northern England.

Just had a brief torrential downpour in Ilkley. These frequent showers are becoming heavier.

Here in Edinburgh, we haven't even come close to getting any thunderstorms during this year so far, but we did get quite a lot of thunderstorms during last summer and tomorrow will the first time this year, that we will have been under any official Met Office thunderstorm warning.

It will therefore be interesting to see whether or not, that ends up being realising although given the sheer lack of any sort of actual weather in these parts over the last few months, I'm certainly not going to placing all of money on that happening.

Having said that though, you never know what might end up happening when it comes to our weather, so it will be a case of wait and see over these next few days.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

As usual the shower tough tip toed past us with just a few drops of rain and no pyrotechnics. We reached 25c at 11am before the cloud moved in.

Typical that they get amazing thunderstorms despite being 15 degrees all week.
