Whilst I'm at it, I thought that it would be a good idea to start this thread off since we never know when somewhere might get some thunderstorms which are worth reporting here.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The radar is showing what looks like an intense and stationary cell over the South Downs near Lewes at the moment. Anyone nearby?

Edit: another smaller one bubbling up a little further east, to the north of Hastings.

Me too!  When it started to hail I said I was surprised we weren’t getting thunder and lightning.  No sooner said, than we got a loud thunder clap!

Some showers blowing through here today, some of them quite heavy. Looks like there's been a typical Cheshire Gap effect going on as well, judging from the look of the sky to my west/south-west.

A beefy shower rattled through an hour ago giving our first measurable rain of the month. 1.4mm fell.

The temperature fell from 15.9c to 10.4c in the shower. A little hail was also observed.

Temperatures soon responded as the sun returned, recovering to what looks like to be a daily maximum temperature of 16.9c just before 4pm.

This afternoon the showers have largely avoided my location, skirting either side with the city as a whole having a few skirmishes of convectivity. Some nice skies around, too.

Thanks to the sunshine this afternoon we have seen a max of 13.5C. Pretty poor for June!

Yes the line of storms heading for London looks quite impressive. We might catch one or two smaller ones but the main line is going to miss us

Same here in St Albans.

Biggest storm for some time. Although rainfall amounts were considerable rather than very high. Cleared away now.

That certainly looks like a very vicious line sat across the Home Counties. Torrential rain and lightning affecting quite a wide area. At least it will provide some drought relief for those areas, assuming the ground isn't baked solid...

Proper thunderstorm here, for the first time in a very long time. Shame it’s not an end of heatwave one rather than a cold plunge spring one. But some impressive lightning and loud enough thunder to shake the house.

Talking of great photos this one has just been posted in the TWO image gallery. In all honesty I think it's one of the best UK weather photos I've ever seen. Truly stunning.
