This is 5ml... not much when it comes to a drink, but I'll have to fill that vial up.

I'll let you know what the results are as soon as I get them (I'm hoping for positive, but expecting negative).

The latter bit doesn't fill me with confidence, nor do the instructions (which basically tell you to squeeze out the blood, using another finger if necessary). Still, it'll be worth the inconvenience to find out if I've had it or not!

Hi Darren,

How did you go about getting this ?

I've mapped out two metre gaps in class. 15 children will fit in a 10m x 6m class with suitable gaps. They won't be able to move though, and there's no room for additional furniture or a member of staff. That's club class. In economy, you could fit 24, but all but 8 of these would actually have to merge with the brickwork of the walls.

I got it from here - hopefully it'll prove reliable.

Thanks Joe - that's a bit more reassuring. I have visions of blood gushing out when I take the sample, but I guess it won't anything like the cartoons!

I'm not diabetic but have done a finger-prick drop of blood to check my blood glucose level. Perhaps I'd struggle with the 5ml needed.

Blimey!  5ml of blood is surely going to take some squeezing out.  I sometimes struggle to get a single drop on a glucose test strip!  Did they supply you with a finger pricking device as well?

Hope you get the positive result you’re hoping for!

Perhaps this was Richie Rich acting alone, but a very welcome move. He is smooth and impressive, and I don't say that about many Tories

Maybe they realise the prospect of schools going back is b*ll*cks.

They provided two of them, they look innocuous enough!

Incidentally, they've updated their page since I ordered. They now mention they're using Abbott tests (yay, the company my dad worked for) and they have 100% sensitivity and 99.63% specificity. Or, in other words, if you've actually had it 100% of the tests will show that. If you haven't had it, but instead had another coronavirus, there's a 0.37% chance of a false positive.

Why we're not rolling these out I'll never know!

Johnson's net approval rating dropped 17 points on 11th May compared to 10th May. Remains to be seen what effect the press conference last night had, along with the furloughing news today and whether there is a bounce back. Not sure how many people are asked each day but the numbers don't normally fluctuate that much so must be fairly respresentative.

I hope you test positive!

It is completely beyond me. More important than track and trace I think because I don't see that working too well.

Have you say I am impressed with the governments extension of the furlough scheme. This aspect has been managed well.

This will give clarity to employers and reassurance to millions of workers.

I have to agree.

The caveat is employers will be expected to contribute from August onwards.

Will this be means tested and will the HMRC look at cash flow, etc?

The devil is in the detail, but overall I am very pleased and reassured.
