That's very interesting Lionel. Do you know the source of these figures as I'd like to look at a number of other countries if possible. Thanks
Other than what's in the article, I don't really have any source for these figures. A quick google shows lots of by country comparisons for deaths and infection rates but I couldn't find any global tables for ICU admissions. Given the difficulties with comparing stats between countries, you would think that ICU admissions might be a clearer way of comparing. Unless, of course, some countries are quicker to admit people to ICU than others.

Looking at the above table, the Swedes haven't really been doing a great job on testing either. They're well behind Ireland on testing - we have 214K tests while they have 148K tests and remember that they have twice our population. On a per capita basis, they also seem to be well below the UK in terms of testing. Despite the relatively low testing levels, they're still not far behind the UK on overall infection rates on a per capita basis. The only metric on which the Swedes are ahead of the UK is on deaths. However, it all depends on how deaths are recorded and the earlier article that I posted suggests that the Swedes are a little bit shy of recording Corona virus as a cause of death. It's interesting to focus on Sweden given that they have a much lighter lockdown than most.
