33.0C Heathrow.
Is that the one to beat?
Cambridge Airport reporting 33C at 11:00.
Also worth keeping in mind that it’s the flow from France that’s enabling such extreme temps today, with local surface heating important, but not quite as much so as usual when looking for record high temps.Shower reaching Bournemouth looks to have fizzled as it encountered dry thermals from the land.
As you mentioned James, they are elevated showers and as well as moving along at a fair lick they are not showing much in the way of intensification to give any overspill of cloud. I wouldn't be overly concerned on impact just now.
30.5C at 11am here.

Yes, I think the triangle between Bedford, Cambridge & Heathrow is where the highest looks like being.
Just my north about 10 miles inland its 29.8C with a DP. of 21C with 59% r/h.That's almost tropical!! And that's at 11:15am đđ¯
Yep, www.winchesterweather.org.uk currently showing 30.9c, 19.6c DP and humidity in the low-50's. Remarkable.
Doncaster airport had 30c at 10:50.
Met office app has us partly cloudy and 36c at 2pm and with lightning/rain at 3pm and 4pm. That cloud could scupper some records if it comes early!
Comparing with the AROME we are on track.
So 38C looking likely now.

Actually a degree or two ahead of Arome, which only had 32C in the London area by 11am UK time (no 33C isotherm that I can see)
Highest temps as per Met Office tweet https://twitter.com/metoffice/status/1154333880079585281
Kew Gradens 34.0C
Heathrow 33.4C
Northolt 33.1C
Cambridge 32.7C
I assume these are between the hourly readings.
Edit: actually Arome does have 33C in the Cambridgeshire area for 11am. Arome 6Z is a degree or so higher than the 00Z. It shows Cambridge as the hot spot with 39C.
But no higher. The record is safe for another year. Cloud cover will ensure that.
Just hope the storms are not too bad, don't want another garage flood
Actually a couple of degrees ahead of Arome, which only had 31C in the London area by 11am UK time.
Using the max pixel, max obs proxy method
I know its not an apples to apples comparison but I think it works well
On Target rising 2.7c per hour can’t do anything about the solar radiation but feels like some very special is unfolding
