We know which day he was admitted and his date of birth.  That might be sufficient to get an update.

Unless someone wants to try I'll call them tomorrow and report back with any news.

In the meantime my thoughts are with you Dougie, if by any chance you manage to get on-line.

Peter that would be great.

No Nick. I don’t know his surname or the ward he was admitted to, although he may have been moved.

His surname is Eades. That’s all I know. I really don’t know if they if they will give out that information but it’s worth a shot.

How desperately sad. I was hoping he'd have at least a few more days after his last post.

God bless you Dougie; an end to your pain.

You've all talked about Dougie's steely resolve and his courage. I think part of that came from all of you- with limited family, you made sure he wasn't lonely at the end with all your posts and wishes. Thank you, especially Caz. I feel humbled.

Oh no, that's awful news.  His cancer must have been more advanced than I/we feared for him to pass away within a week of being readmitted.

You put up a brave fight Dougie. RIP.

It is incredibly sad but I am pleased that he could share his experiences with us and I hope that brought him some comfort towards the end, knowing that he was in the thoughts of people from all over the country.

I will always think of Dougie when I look at the Current Conditions thread in the Weather Forum - just a little thing but it’s often through those “little things” that we remember people.

Thank you also Caz for starting this thread.

Dougie was always the first contribution I read every morning under current weather - he posted soon after midnight. I will miss him - RIP Dougie.

That was my hope, too.

RIP, Dougie
