We all know that it’s sometimes difficult to talk.  Often at times when we most need to.  At times when isolation is the worst thing. We’re not good at talking and we should be.  Keeping silent causes too many problems and communicating solves many.  We could all help ourselves and others by just talking. We all need to learn from Dougie’s example.

Kind words to Dougie come easily because you just couldn’t be any different to such a lovely well respected person.  I’ve never met Dougie but over the years I’ve learnt from his posts that he’s true to himself and that’s an admirable quality that we don’t all possess.

I’m hoping someone can get news of Dougie.  If anyone is in touch with him personally, please give us an update and pass on my best wishes.

A lovely post, Caz. And thank you.

Evening Dougie!

I’m back at work and life at home again. I do love travelling but I love being at home too. I’m never keen on unpacking cases and the holiday washing and ironing though but I have made a start on that.

Sending hugs and a smile.   X

Ahh Caz I’m glad your back, you always have such words of wisdom thank you! Good luck with your washing lol.
Hey Doug, hope you are here. Hope the hozzy is not as crazy as the shops are if you are still there. It’s half term and we’ve had lots of crazy fractious mothers in dragging their kids behind them. Tempers seem frayed lol. It’s only going to get worse before Christmas too. That brings out the Christmas crazies! Sending love to you xx

It's clear Dougie that the inspiration you have left people has brought them together. It's so clear.

Clear as day.

Dougie. You ain't no Hero you ain't no Messiah.

But bloody hell you're tough and certainly an inspiration. You have affected the thoughts of so many people here and others around them outside of this thread through your posts.

You certainly have made a mark and a difference that you might not have realised as yet.

Thanks.

Some amazing posts here...Dougie, although I,don’t know you in person, these past few days as I carry on with the ordinary, mundane things of life, my thoughts have been often turning to you and just wondering how you are, and whether you are able to read any of these posts...I just wanted to say a heart felt thank you for sharing your journey all the way through until almost the very end...May you find a sense of peace at the end of your life and know that you’ve lived life well and brought immense comfort and challenge and ultimately huge huge respect and admiration for your courage, honesty and fortitude..God Bless you, Dougie and thank you.

It's cloudy here today Dougie. It was damp this morning, even though the pressure was reasonably high.

I got very excited a moment ago Dougie; clicked into this thread and saw you'd posted again.

Then realised it was page 1 of the thread.

If you're having trouble posting, Dougie, can you ask one of the nurses to update us?

Evening Dougie. It’s been a day of working and washing here and I’m happy to do such things because I’m able to do them.  I can’t complain when I know you’d give anything to just do something normal.  Perspective eh?

I don’t know if you are able to read this.  You said in your last post that your time was limited and you’re clearly not well enough to post but I sincerely hope you’re comfortable and not suffering.  We have no way of knowing and we may never know. That’s how it goes on forums and I knew that when I started this thread - forever the pragmatist!  Yes, as much as we’d like news from you, the most important thing is that you’re being looked after.  Whether you’re reading this or not, I’m sure you know how much your friends on TWO are thinking about you.

Night Dougie  xx

Yes, thank you Tony. I’ve been putting off asking that question but I think it’s right to ask it now. As Saint says, he hasn’t logged in for a few days. If he hasn’t logged in, he won’t be able to read our messages either as the forum arms isn’t public.
