How on Earth is the prov. CET all the way up there? It's been insanely mild here yet I'm 'only' at 6.6*C to yesterday!

Yes, just when I was nicely entering the top 10 with a good Nov guess too, I've now thrown it all away and will probably end up with my lowest position of the year!

Ah well, at least this competition didn't have a £1,000 entry fee!

If it's around -10c every day for the last 10 days of the month it might just get back down low enough to match my prediction

I've lost track of where we are likely to end up.  Somewhere around 6.2?

A few years ago that sort of CET would have seemed refreshingly mild... after 2011, 13 and then the exceptional blockbusting 15 it seems incredibly mundane... it's hard to believe now that we only hit 6c twice in December  (1994, 2006) in the whole of the 1990s and 2000s. Clearly the month is making up for lost warming time this decade!

Yes, something has flipped and December, which had become the "banker month" that February was in the 1980s, has changed again.  Lets hope February flips back to its old ways, I'm not holding my breath!
