I'm not sure these two will score in the penalty shoot out. We could be here all night..

A fitting end would be Argentina going out due to Messi messing up.

The one saving grace is that I really can't see the Argentinians beating the Germans.

A sad day for lovers of football as the worst team in the tournament are in the final. WTF!

Hope for an early goal in the final otherwise it could be a borefest. That was a truly shocking game.

What this entire tournament has shown is that whoever Artzeman backs, inevitably loses. The man is a total and utter Jonah.

I'm hoping he's backing the Argies for the final.

I can't see anything other than a Germany win.

We didn't even get out of the group stages. As the knockout stages have progressed, Germany aside, it has only highlighted still further what a total write-off the England football side is. This tournament has hardly been awash with quality sides. Quite the opposite, which has probably what's made it so entertaining.

Both the Argies and the Krauts are strong in defense. It won't be as dirty as the 1990 final but it could be as sterile. Germany will win it and probably win it with the usual Tuetonic efficiency 1-0, or it will be 0-0 after 120 mins and Germany will win the penna shoot out.

Or Germany could turn it on again and smash the goals, but Argentina are just a little bit better organised at the back than Brazil. I think my work 5 a side team is better organised at the back than Brazil!

Either way the end result should be a German win. (unless the Germany that played Ghana or Algeria turns up).

Agree. I'll go for Germany 2-1 Invaders, and hope my run of perception in this World Cup continues. No doubt it'll come crashing down in the final and the Invaders will triumph in a way they could only have dreamed about at Port Stanley.

I think the fact that the Germans have made the final again will in itself provide much motivation for Messi and co to win on Sunday. As well as 1990, the Germans knocked Argentina out of the last two World Cups with a 4-0 Q/F hammering in 2010 and a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw at the same stage in 2006. Given how the semis turned out, Germany will be the favourites, but Sunday will be another game entirely.

That's the point I made earlier. When I saw Germany in those two games I would never have believed it possible that they would later put 7 goals past Brazil, or anyone else come to that.

They've got a good chance on Sunday, but I don't see them scoring 7 again or anything approaching that. The Argies won't be anything like as incompetent at the back as Brazil were on Tuesday night, that I am sure of.
