It has been raining here steadily since last night but there has been no data for that for either Edinburgh Gogarbank or the botanic gardens in Edinburgh since 2pm yesterday at weathercast.co.uk. Since I have no other means of being able to get any of the latest data for the botanic gardens, I have no option other than to report the data for Edinburgh Gogarbank in the meantime. I can get that data from SEPA, although that is always an hour or so behind weathercast.co.uk.
For that reason, I can only report that a total of 2.2 mm of rain fell at Edinburgh Gogarbank during yesterday up to midnight, followed by a further 3.6 mm of rain during this morning between midnight and 6am. This means that the running totals for Edinburgh Gogarbank up to 6am this morning, taking a rain day to be one where 1 mm or more of rain has fallen were as follows:
Monthly Total For October: 27.9 mm (Expected), 27.8 mm (Actual)
Number of Rain Days in October so far: 4.2 (Expected), 6 (Actual)
We have now had 32.9% of our average October rainfall and 46.9% of our average number of rain days in October so far, so this month is currently 0.4% drier than average according to the actual rainfall amounts, but 41.8% wetter than average according to the number of rain days.
2017 Autumn Total: 85.9 mm (Expected), 86.0 mm (Actual)
Number of Rain Days so far this autumn: 14.6 (Expected), 22 (Actual)
We have had 40.0% of our average autumn rainfall so far and 60.1% of our average number of rain days for this autumn so far, so this autumn is currently 0.1% wetter than average according to the actual rainfall totals, and 50.4% wetter than average according to the number of rain days.
2017 Yearly Total: 560.4 mm (Expected), 587.2 mm (Actual)
