Aye, it's frankly about 50/50 whether I end up within 0.5*C of the actual CET or many degrees out

 - and that's assuming that the Atlantic will be kept out even with a poorly orientated block, with a slack surface feed still hammering the CET via very low overnight minima.

What would be just typical is an overly large low placed too far west over Europe. Good thing I don't believe in jinxing things

I think I'll have another daft cold guess and go with 1.7c

Given I've started terribly with my Jan guess I may as well carry on in the same vein

I'll go for 3.6C, was see-sawing between that and an above average figure, going to be a tough month to call.

A very tough month to call... I'm going to lean softly on the mild side of the fence with 5.3c please

I will go for 4.3C

A right old mix in February - some very mild weather and some very cold weather. Largely cancelling each other out to leave an average month.

I'm going to stick with my Jan prediction (which looks a reasonable one in the end), and go with 4.01 for Feb too.

Suspect it might turn out to be cooler ultimately, possibly substantially so, but I will relish any proper winter weather so it's win-win really!

It certainly is a tough one this month. So often we seem to get a new pattern in the weather models showing just around the end of the month. Then it changes back again just after I've made my prediction!

I was going to go mild but now think that some sort of cool down is on the cards. I think I'll plump for a near average 4.2C
