About 1c down here so far compared to yesterday, currently 30.8c ( 32c yesterday), with a gentle breeze thankfully up on the southern slopes of the North Downs. Still too hot.

Be very interesting if we hit a 35C officially today as it will be the 10th time this summer.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

Regarding the amount of 37c days we've had, I emailed the Met Office and they did confirm 3 37c days. 25th June is the extra one, presumably they have accepted the Yeovilton 37.3c after all. I've asked for confirmation if it is actually the Yeovilton temp.ย

Today marks the 18th day this year in which 30ยฐC+ has been recorded- a lot less than some places I know, but unprecedented none the less. Our garden is a deeply foliaged abundance of plants, meaning in summer we are often 2-4C cooler than neighbours, and with frequennt (watering can) watering that adds a further coolant (latent heat rather than sensible).ย

34.0c was the high here today. 26th day above 30c this summer and yes Bertie we are similarly well sheltered in general albeit the best place for the VP2 is in full sun, hence why I got the daytime FARS. 26 days is insane compared to the previous record of 11 days.

August is actually at exactly the same average daily max so far as we had in the whole of July, 29.2c, although that will obviously drop next week for sure.

Got a WTF was that!

It sounded like a red alert klaxon from Star Trek on my phone.

A severe alert from government about wildfire risk.
