00z ensembles for London had downgraded to 19C from 21C today while here just pipped at 20C even a slightly above 20C line so that why 37C for London and here 38-39C.  It seem the West is best for the heat. I am glad I don't live in the far east is very boring place to live and their heat is very limited and always last place to get the heat which is very short lived compare to West, Midlands and London areas last longer.   

21.3c this morning but no sweat overnight sleeping as it low humidity at 38%.

That doesn't sound right. Over here in the west of the county we have 32c with a DP of 14c with 34% humidity

Sounds like you're under the same maritime airmass as here - there was a push from the east overnight and it brought a heavy dew here. 20.8/dew 19.8 here as of 19 minutes ago -  my fibre connection is down so not sure what it is currently!

EDIT: And just as I posted it came back online, 21.1/dew 20.1 now with a very light waft from the east. MetO has that waft/humid airmass in place for most of the day (with temperatures rising and humidity falling into the afternoon as the wind veers southerly), but it'll only go so far inland. 

Well I wish it had pushed this far as humidity is now down to 28% and temp is 32.6c

It looks like the North Downs is the dividing line, going by wundermap - dry and hot to the SW of them, increasingly cooler and more humid to the NE. That said even here it'll dry out, the MetO raw has 28/dew 13 (39% RH) at 4PM, in an ENE'ly breeze. GFS has 35/dew 11 (23% RH) instead, also with an ENE'ly. I suspect the GFS will be too hot - it had 33 here yesterday but it ended up as 26!

The UK government does not maintain a centralized, strategic public food reserve anymore. When I began work, there were centralised warehouses for this purpose. One site wasn't far from Bristol but no more. 

It's now left mainly to the supermarkets to plan for. There are no State Reserves that I know about. Some European nations maintain or are rebuilding public emergency food stocks. I would suggest it's a good time to start the process again, especially after this summer.

Actually I just noted Merignac (Bordeaux) was 37°C at 11am. Same heatwave, different place.

I love these little mesoclimatic quirks. My DP has now dropped to 14C so the maritime air must have departed. Temp is showing at 34.6C which is clearly over/reading and I think that’s because there’s no wind and the station isn’t aspirated. 

My phone app says 33c here in Hull too

27.0, dew 19.0 here near the coast - 63% RH. The breeze seems to have died, annoyingly; half a mile away it's only 24 as they still have a breeze from the sea.
