Last year was the warmest spring on record until this year. This year was the warmest summer on record until... well, we'll see.

It's been hairdryer after sauna here since late May with the expected 'English monsoon' as a break. But we've been roasting now for weeks.

Is that a moan or a gloat?

This is from a local weather station. Although not official it's been running for many years and used to almost always be on par with the old metoffice Solent station so it's fairly accurate. Obviously this is towards the coast of Gosport and Portsmouth city and it's northern districts will have been hotter.

Just a gloat for those that have been missing out on the heat.  

14 days with at least 30C 

2 Days around 29C

And since the 22nd of June only 3 days below 25C

That does not sound right. My diagnosis of early Heart issues was in 1999 during a hot spell. These eventually became serious in 2019. Your GP may offer a health check, BP, ECG. If you have not already had one perhaps ask the question?

I see that the June UK maximum temperature record of 37.7C at Lingwood Norfolk recorded on 26th June has been re-evaluated as 38.0C following a more detailed study by the Met Office
