GFS goes very hot next weekend, boosted by aother low making more inroads than the 6Z.

The options at the moment seem to be extended plateau of 30C heat under high pressure, or blowtorch 35C heat with brief blips of low pressure.

That the op, which brings multiple 30+ days and peaks at 35C is by no means an outlier but middle of the pack is something. 

GEM is crap though. And AIFS is weird as ever.

An individual run is showing a theoretical possibility. I don’t think anyone has ever suggested that 40°C is the favoured outcome, and that’s not what the GFS has shown. The i paper spoke to me about it last month and you can see what I said here:
