GFS goes very hot next weekend, boosted by aother low making more inroads than the 6Z.

The options at the moment seem to be extended plateau of 30C heat under high pressure, or blowtorch 35C heat with brief blips of low pressure.

Very solid gfs mean at 138 probably at its extended limit use

GEM op is crap

You don't often see GEFS mean 2m maximum temperatures this high in southern and central Britain when looking so far ahead.

Not often you see ensembles like this full stop. There are several runs for the ages in the set: “1976 but with global warming”. 

That the op, which brings multiple 30+ days and peaks at 35C is by no means an outlier but middle of the pack is something. 

GEM is crap though. And AIFS is weird as ever.

Yes but it does seem like there is a general over estimate of temperatures from the GFS in the extended range, so the theoretical 40 would probably end up being downgraded to a 37 or 38c nearer the time if that ensemble run evolved as predicted in reality?
