Was just going to post something similar. The eastward extent of any precip looks to be close to West Kent so probably not anything to get too excited about for us Kent folk but areas further West may see something depending on intensity/height etc.

Interestingly about 65% have a covering of snow for the South/Southwest/South Wales region. Definitely interest piqued.

Given the fact that the initial starting snow cover here (over 5cm) is missing I am taking those options with a pinch of salt. The models really struggle to get a handle of the convective snow showers up here in these situations.

First snow of season falling, albiet lightly, here now. 

I think you’re Galway. This would put the northern edge about 75miles north of the earlier UKV modelling. 

Nowcast from here but if you’re a snow-starved southerner I’d keep my eyes on it.

I'll be very surprised if it settles at low levels - perhaps a wet covering on the top of the Downs. EDIT - count me surprised😊

A forecasters' nightmare for low levels. Most roads will be fine here but once you reach the Ridgeway south of Dorchester or Dorset Downs (Sussex Downs even) it could be interesting.

Looking closer at this, I'm not sure why both the Met Office and BBC forecasts for here show sleet or rain (same for Manchester)

We have a decent base of a cm of frozen graupel on all surfaces that have kept out of the sun, so hoping for snow.

Interestingly despite these only being 24 hours out not a single got it anywhere near correct. The closest was perturbation 10.

An interesting day for the higher ground of Cornwall with the village of Minions (300masl) recieving 24cm of snow.

Evap cooling is alot stronger than expected. If the band stays relatively stationary the western heavy parts could see some snow.

The models have been toying with the possibility of some wet snow on the northern and western edges of this disturbance in recent days. 

Here for example, we could see a few snow/wintry showers later tomorrow. Hard to believe given how mild it is currently.

The cold air will not be the issue tomorrow, more the lack of precipitation. It is more likely there would be more widespread snow in these areas (inland/high ground) on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with a covering likely in places.

The lake effect snow has been spectacular in NY. Impressive lightning as well ('Live Storms Media' on YT has some great footage of this). 

That’s at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, just south of the Canadian border, and one of the notorious snow belt areas.

I remember my father and I almost getting caught out in the snow belt to the east of Georgian Bay (another notorious area): when lake effect snow hits it just throws it down; nothing at all to white out in a few minutes.

I'm eyeing up Sunday in particular. For western and northern parts there is a genuine risk of snow storms. Gale force winds and very heavy snow showers with some spots having some high accumulations; but with this being convective it will be dependent on the locality.

However in terms of lake effect potential this looks like it could be bad for a few spots. Places like London I'm sure will see nothing but the NW of Scotland could see truly dangerous and extreme conditions.

With the main focus on Xmas, this is one that's crept up on people. 

GFS always overeggs the snow threat, but it's showing snow to even low levels across NW England, N Wales (as well as much of Scotland). I don't think that'll happen (more likely just wintry showers) - but areas over 500ft could/should get a covering
