Guess you don;'t understand what I mean about June absolute max record had not been achieved under this so-called global warming only 35.6C was recorded in 1976 under non-global warming that time.  48 years on and no record being broken to beat 35.6C not even 36.0C rounded figure.   Someone posted the live cam of Santa Claus village and it was 22C at midnight to now 21C.  It now flashing number and the red light themometer seem not working now.   Lapland warmer than the UK at the moment but look over cast.

Dr Michael Mosley missing while walking on Symi - one suggestion is that he was overcome by the heat. The Aegean is under a heat warning and the temp at Symi airport yesterday was 95F/36C despite it being a small island surrounded by sea.

'Just One Thing' - remember to take your phone with you; he didn't.

I've seen it once in England, with enormous hail that shredded leaves off trees and destroyed onion and salad crops in Hampshire. Not to mention ornamental garden stuff. And even dented cars and shattered greenhouse roofs. TBH I prefer the ZZZ in the UK.

Could get something like that somewhere in the UK this summer. Really severe thunderstorms tend to be more of a feature of bad summers than good summers, e.g, July 1968.

Read on Kita Weather website for Cyprus and he expecting to see temperatures peaking at record 46C likely on Friday while Thursday and Sat 45C so that right on cue for the longest daylight.  Possible threaten to break the hottest record of 46.2c in Sept 2020 which that time the sun was much lower and shorter daylight.

After this another storm expected with temperatures drop back to 37C so overall this month extremely interesting with 2 record heatwaves follow by proper storms.   Nicosia max average for June is normally 34C and record highest max was 36.1C will likely to be broken by few Cs possible finished at 38 to 39C so that amazing.  They don't deal with CET figures that UK Meto obsessed with it as they more discuss actual truth about max or min average but rarely discuss about min, mostly max as many are awake to see, feel and impact.

UK climate sod off and so boring at low to mid teens temps and no action.   This month we should be looking at heatwave threshold and thunderstorms season.

Another heatwave in Cyprus so yesterday resulted highest 45.3C and today 44.4c in Athienou while Nicosia 29.5C so that first time to see 30C at night and only 40.9C currently.  Visitor weather station in Nicosia as well was 30C and now 42C.  So interesting stats than here and those who have weather stations in Cyprus are so lucky to have lot of interesting weather data than this country dead boring never ending Autumn climate.

Nothing particularly unusual but can't really find a suitable thread to post this.

I wonder if there is a supercell over NE France at the moment (29 Jun 2024 @ 19.15 hrs).

Just look at the speed of Cb clouds formation over NE France!

Perhaps not so unusual in the "modern era" but Death Valley has a small chance of breaking the all time temperature record in a few days time.
The Met Office app is showing a forecast high of 55C on Sunday;

Buenos Aires has been unusually cold lately with maximum of 8 C (46 F) in the last 2 days, and a low of 3 C (37 F). It's dry with bright sunshine and only light S winds, resembling a quiet bright sunny day in London in November. Buenos Aires normal maxima for July is 15 C (59 F).
