This means that the CET mean has to be 6.53C or warmer on average for the remaining 4 days to tie the 7.9C for the warmest Feb

Looking a lot less likely now following the two sub 4C days we have just had although mid week this week is looking milder for a short while

Think it's going to be very close. The 28th looks like a very mild night could be 9c minimums. If we can avoid much of a frost tonight we might scrape it. My amateur workings came up with 7.93c . I think that's the record to two decimal places.

I'll have to have a look at my CET tables. Beginning to think now we'll come in at 7.8C. Still very impressive but not a new record. That'll be 2nd mildest. I'm not sure if they're a couple of equal ones up there. I think there might be.   🙂 

That's quite something 

Autumn and winter surely both in the elite warm category too, and one of the warmest such combinations ever ? 2006-7 is the only rival period that immediately springs to mind as warmer than the last 6 months .

Looks like this will be the second warmest Autumn - Winter period. Currently at 9.4°C compared with 2006-7 at 9.6°C.

This will mean the last 3 years are all in the top 6 warmest.
