Sun has made an appearance and we've reached 15 C so our second highest temp and feels great compared to yesterday's 8 C
Sadly, that's not quite the case here in the north of Edinburgh where I still can't see any signs of any sunshine.
Today's highest hourly temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank has only been 14.6°C. That is still much higher than what we witnessed during yesterday though and since that is very close to that elusive 15°C mark, it is possible that the actual maximum temperature might end up above that when that comes through with the 18z SYNOP data.
If that happens (and there can be no actual guarantees that it will at this stage), it will be the one and only time (since this is the last day of the month) when the temperature will have reached 15°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
That is still very poor and it won't be enough in the end to prevent this month from being colder than average overall.
As I am writing this, this Sun is now finally starting to appear here in the north of Edinburgh but sadly, that is also happening too now to prevent this month from going down as yet another duller than average month.
Having said that though, the wind has now changed direction and is no longer coming in from off the North Sea.
That in turn has helped the temperature to recover to around 14°C here in Edinburgh as at 5pm BST (16:00 UTC) this afternoon.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
