well, here if all that has fallen since last evening had settled we'd have a good covering. currenly not settling on hard surfaces. Still work with what you've got.

Heavy snow, 6-7 inches, some slight drifting. Quite wet stuff now though, I foresee rain by 11!

Still hammering down. Pretty chaotic on side roads here, main roads not too bad, although a few minor accidents according to reports. We’re not venturing out as we’re very rural and on a very steep track. Good luck further North!

After missing out on the snow events of this winter it has now snowed here in North Worcestershire continually for over 24 hours as far as I am aware (I do sleep).

About 7-8 cm has fallen.

The biggest single snow event here for maybe 7 or 8 yrs.  Steady moderate snow.  about an inch covering.

Grass still visable.  Havent had a covering like this on grass in recent memory.

Still falling in Manchester city centre, but it's mostly light (although just got a bit heavier).

In St Helens at around 8.25, it was beginning to get pretty heavy and already sticking, with a covering on grass, roofs, cars. Looking at my cctv cams, it's not really progressed from that. Snow still falling, but only light-moderate.

The radar shows extensive ppn - but a bit patchy and not much in the way of heavy/intense rates.

Still expecting the ppn to turn to sleet/rain later today, before hopefully reverting back to snow. I just don't think there'll be anything like a decent accumulation before the rain, and who knows in the second bout?

I head into these things with a pragmatic cynicism, but also hoping that the stars align and we get a decent fall. I'm not, at this moment, feeling optimistic.

Yeh seems the forecast where there are hills to get pasted - seems to be accurate.  From an initial big flak intensity before 9am, its backed off to slightly less than moderate with pea sized flakes.

But im hearing anywhere there is a hill - ie mold, and Delamere, seems to be much more intense, despite radar echos.

Seems to have flatlined here now.

70 metres above sea level here in Leeds it's snowing and gripping to prone surfaces (just - it's sliding off car windows, for example) but certainly not to the estate road. Looks really marginal at this stage. Presumably if it gets heavier there's more chance of it laying.

Still snowing steadily in the West Midlands. Maybe around 5 to 6 inches so far. I didn't expect this much and to be honest i thought it would have turned to rain by now.

Arperge seems to have it nailed on regarding snow and how far north the boundary line gets.

Snowing steadily here in Sheffield, a few inches at the moment, probably a bit more on the higher parts of the City, see what the rest of the day brings.

Two years in a row where most of the snow has fallen outside winter!

Speaking as earlier sleetiness has turned back to light snow.

Now melting off cars and slushy on the lawns. Big flakes. Typical marginal conditions.

Plenty of time yet but at the moment it looks like I could go out to the gym after all. Didn't want to get stranded up a hill in Bramley!

Snow has got heavier through the morning.
4-6cm now on natural surfaces. Drives and pavements have patchy cover in places which is slowly increasing.  Road clear.
But the temp is rising,  was -1.2c and now up to 0.0c.

My home cctv showing no further settling. Coleague who lives in Bolton (near Rivi Pike) has about 1-2cm on grass, nothing on roads.

Plenty of snow falling, but just too marginal for big accumulations away from higher altitude areas. A sadly familiar tale since 2013 here (although we had about 5cm Boxing Day night 2014 in very marginal conditions IMBY).

Yes. It's a while since I've posted and that occurred to me. A very useful function which saves us all repeating it.

Still snowing here (low level Leeds) but no additional cover and sliding off car windows etc.

I'm beginning to think I should venture out after all.
