The last snow shower coming through. Renewed cover over 150m. Should be perfect for my walk over Lingmoor Fell in the morning

A day of two halves in the Central Lakes. Snow all morning settling to 100m amsl. 10cm at 300m amsl.

Sunny spells this afternoon sun shining on the snow covered hills and mountains

Late snow shower now topping up above 100m

Hard frost tonight

Frosty, sunny, snow covered walk to the Langdales tomorrow

The cold front in the Durham area means serious buisness and seems to be giving some heavy snow there right now.

Did you get any lying snow on Friday?

Waiting to see when exactly that band over Durham and Cumbria is going to fragment either side of me as per the model forecast.

Whilst the band has lost some intensity we have been directly hit by the remainder of it . Everything covered in snow, fine heavy stuff coming down and 0.3c.

Skies clearing so could be quite icy in the morning .  Melted from pavements and roads despite being 0c, but just less than a cm on all other surfaces.  Probably the last snow of the winter.

Yes. Snow started lying at around 5am but the precip was too light to come to anything. About 1cm which was all gone by midday.

Walked back from Ambleside to Skelwith after the pub. Roads are sheet ice, no gritting! This evening's late snow and slush frozen hard!

Not been a good winter snow wise here. A cm in December, a dusting in January and only 2cm last Friday at best. We normally do quite well for snow here but it's done it's utmost to avoid us. Been an odd winter with a strange snow distribution with near sea level Merseyside getting a couple of decent falls when it's usually us who cop it instead. Last proper fall of snow here was November 2021. My brother who lives in the Austerlands part of Oldham did very well though last Friday and was snowed in. He does live at 250m though so this has happened many times.

I believe you live where I used to live? I moved away from Failsworth about 18 months ago, so it's interesting to be able to compare the differences. Where I am now (between Bolton and Chorley), the December snow was quite heavy (about 25cm), but the January and March snows were just a very slight dusting at best.

A thin covering of snow over 300m on the Pentlands after yesterday's hail and snow showers. A clear, sunny but frosty morning and - 3.8 C was the minimum on my digital garden thermometer

Near Tarves, Aberdeenshire. The new software doesn’t seem to show up the location in poster’s profiles.

Here in Aberdeen the light cover of snow looks pretty in the sunshine.
