Woke up to 1 cm of snow this morning - quite expected. First snow fall here in Norfolk all winter, bar a flurry of lakes in December.

Richard should be happy with that in his area? Here failure no blast just cloud fest again and less cold temps.

Dusting of hail here, -2C and quite windy but mainly clear.
More snow showers closer to the coast no doubt.

Wow, good stuff, that is a significant fall. Hopefully limited melting during the middle of the day and even if it does a bit maybe you will get a further top up when the temps are comfortably subzero again this evening (as per Met Office app).

Snow falling here this morning down to about 100m with settling above about 200m.
I took a drive up on to the Quantocks and there was a cm or 2 at 300m with probably a little more at the highest point (370m)

We had a little snow overnight in South Cambridgeshire, just enough to settle on drier surfaces, but all gone within an hour or so.  Pretty sure that our elevation (ca 130 metres) made a difference.

It certainly does, Peter - I recall one year in the early 70s I walked from Shudy Camps to Linton before hitching a lift to Sawston for work. The roads were clear from Linton.

I thought Richard had been quiet this morning!
No doubt he will wait until it starts to melt and then have a moan about it 🙂

He's too busy rolling around it outside making snow angel's 😁😁.
Hoping to be in sweetspot here for thurs/fri but suspect we are a little too far north to get a foot plus but time will tell.

It's currently snowing here in Edinburgh just now.

This just looks like a passing shower and it is still mostly bright.

As a result, it hasn't quite snowed for long enough for that to have a chance to actually settle although it was briefly quite heavy.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
