It's a rounded temperature from Netweather.

I don't think we'll get 40 here.
Currently 36/37
At least it will be mild!

All over here, down to "just" 31.5C now.

Interesting data from my weather station though. You can see the classic cold front passage, with the change in temperature, wind and direction, and the sudden drop then rise in pressure:

Amazing temperature that, Brogdale has got to be close to 40c I'd have thought. Hovering between 34-35c here nearer the south coast.

I remember one of the GFS runs (from a few days ago) had a predicted temperature of 43C for Hull!

Really quite gusty winds here, and a some scattered convective cloud getting going now.

This is the station that I use. It doesn't report, but I believe it is to Met O standard. Its about 4 miles away from me, and gives readings very close to the official ones. EG last time it recorded 38.8 vs the official 38.2, so not beyond the realms of possibility given the slight valley near the River Ouse.

Cambridge  Airport was at 39 for the 14:50 report. Have to wait till tomorrow to see what the botanical gardens got/gets to

You see, I knew you could rely on those GFS cloud predictions

Looks like a fire nearby and then doused down with water? Very odd.

Doncaster airport also now showing 40C.

Heathrow now down to 38.7C so a new record holder will soon be announced I think.

39.8 at St James's Park. You now need to have broken the 2019 record to even figure in the top 20 stations on Weatherobs!
