Its last major eruption was in 2007. Up to 8.5 centimetres of volcanic ash have settled in the village of Klyuchi, according to news reports."

Yes the IMO has stated there is the increased likelihood of an eruption. It will be interesting to see if and where it occurs.

The 'magma intrusion', from the bits and pieces I have picked up anyway, is supposedly on par with the pre-2021 eruption in terms of volume, which is no guarantee that an similar sized eruption will be the result, but interesting times for sure. It seems something of a 'cycle' is going on.
