From what I can see on the camera's in Iceland, at the moment, there appears to be some more new lava vents opened up, either side of the 3rd vent/volcano. Otherwise I'm not sure what all the bright red jumping colours are, that have appeared there during the last 12 hours or so.

Got it - a toasted fried-egg sandwich - wholemeal bread! On a china plate that you then drop on a tile floor to break for a sound effect. While watching the live feed, of course.

Pretty sure you're right - looks to be new fissures either side of number 3. The new fissure between original site and 3 seems quite extensive too. The MBL camera angle picks it up quite nicely.

That is indeed impressive. But also somewhat odd, with normal day to day life in the foreground and a significant volcanic eruption in the background.

I understood that activity from that area was low-key, so that’s quite unexpected.

Yes, you’re right. In the last day or so there has been a bit of a change to almost geyser-like activity with quiet periods interspersed with lava fountains. It is fascinating to watch on the webcams.

Someone spotted a tornado at the eruption site - go to 11:50 on the feed time and you can it form in the left of the picture. (Tornado/dust devil or whatever I guess!).

Slightly irritating ads in the middle/end but another good wander around the eruption site including the earth walls they've built to try and stop it overflowing in to the next valley and towards a main road (and over some buried cabling). The sound from the eruption is pretty cool too - a lot of vids you don't really hear that due to the noise of the wind.

Interesting that the average flow is up to 13 cubic metres a second at the moment (was 5-8) - certainly not showing any signs of finishing soon. 

You can also see just how deep the lava is getting by looking at the original vent and area around that - when you think the original vent was at the end of a ridge, which is now buried it just shows how deep it is at that point.
