We only had about 15 mins, and the fresh dusting didn't last long. Looked lovely whilst it was falling heavily, but needed it to last a good hour.

Meanwhile the snow drought that has been in effect since April 2013 here (with a brief interruption for a day or 2 in March 2018) continues to strengthen.  Effectively 8 years and counting.

some faraway beach

Very thin and patchy layer here, mostly on the grass and over icy patches in the lanes.

You might call it pathetic, but walking the dog through the dark fields, and in the nippy easterly breeze, it's all pleasingly seasonal. A lot more than I was expecting from following the model output discussion anyway.

Well, two or three times a decade it does, anyway.

West is best sfb.  Proximity to the North Sea is a snow killer at present.

Yes but just to point out that Ben lives in Staffordshire just around the corner from me.

From December 27th 2020, zonality will be banned from mixing with the UK. We appreciate that this may come as a shock to younger people and old Uncle Barty. This ban will last for a minimum of ten days.

Its possibly the heaviest snow I’ve ever seen to be honest. Nothing like that since Jan 2010 here.

Got back in after 2 hours enjoying out side walking and there was some local enjoying the snow after the heavy shower passed by.  Now dry and resulted 1inch deep.

Snow again, falling moderately and settling. -0.5 C so it will be marginal today i feel.
Our 7th day with snow falling and lying in this cold spell. Best here since the Beast.

Agree Jerry. Looking at the radar, will be interesting to see if the next burst of precip is wintry or (like the forecast) rain.

Shock, horror and dismay. Edinburgh has rain! The milder easterly has arrived as expected. We had heavy snow and -3 C at 0630. Now it's +2 C with pure rain
