Sounds like a good place.  I'll visit if I'm in the area - thanks for the recommendation.

01/10 2.1mm
02/10 16.2mm
03/10 47.4mm
04/10 22.5mm at 10:20

Yesterday was my wettest day since my PWS started recording on 01/01/2017, beating the previous record by a whole 9mm.

88.2mm of rain so far this month, makes it the second wettest month of the year so far. Only February (124.5mm) to beat, which it surely will given there's still 4 weeks to go.

What a time for my datalogger to die on the VP2, typical. Thankfully I have a WeatherLink Live to at least get some daily totals off and into Cumulus.

Friday saw 30.6mm - just shy of my daily record (only 4 years old since moving house)
Saturday saw 50.4mm - smashed the record
Sunday so far 22.8mm - stopped raining for now...

103.8mm in a 3 day period has caused the run off river from the field above us to start flowing again so the frogs will be happy at least. In the middle of installing new gates at the house and had the hole dug for the large post, we now have a 90cm deep plunge pool.

Looks as though the 3 day total rainfall at Kew is going to be 76mm (as it seems to have stopped now)

I have the daily data from this 5km area going back to 1958 from the Met Office UKCP09 and the previous highest 3 day total was 68.96mm from September 1968 so it would appear this is the highest 3 day total in 62 years (at least)

Three and half day's into the month and already we've accumulated over 93mm of rain. Is this what a Scottish summer is like?

Dark clouds visible to the east, but we remain in clear, bright, even warm conditions in Lincolnshire in "the eye of the storm".

57.2mm yesterday making it the wettest I have recorded in 15 years. Previous wettest day was 3/9/09 with 54.4mm.

Peak 24 hour total was 71.0mm up to 6:35am today and the total this month has been 81.4mm which is almost at the monthly average already.

The wettest spell probably since September 1995 or possibly even October 1979 when Dyce recorded 92mm in 24 hours on the 4th.

Exactly 100 years since one of the major floods of the 20th Century as well which was focussed on Ballater: 184mm fell in Glen Muick from 1st to 4th October 1920. Haven't seen much reports of flooding this time. The River Dee was high and fast flowing but nothing like the storm in August.

We have seen numerous weather events repeating after exactly 100 years. The summers of 1912/2012, winters 1913/14 and 2013/14, June 1916/2016, winters 1919/20 and 2019/20. Now this. All bad events as well.

A little more light rain this afternoon gave the final 3 day total for this event here at Kew/Richmond as 80.8mm

Although well beaten by other UK locations this is an impressive total for an area not known for its high rainfall totals

I now have the daily rainfall figures from the Met Office UKCP09/CEDA Archive dtabases from 1891-2019 for this location and by my reckoning this is the equal 2nd highest 3 day total since the start of that data 129 years go

The highest figure for 3 days here was 13-15 June 1903 at 91.9mm and the 2nd highest equal was 30 July to 1 August 1917 at 80.6mm

I'd give this storm (IMBY) 4/10 for wind, 8/10 for rain and 9/10 for the way it developed and the synoptics that were well forecast several days in advance. But for the parts of France where it had an incredible impact 10/10 where it must have been hell for those affected. Well the storm that caused mayhem in France even if not quite the same perhaps as here.

Using WeatherOnline stats, nearby Rothamsted Park recorded 103mm over the last 72 hours and 105mm over the whole storm period. The sun has just appeared now though!

I assume from high rainfall totals based over a few days, a fair amount of water may find itself in reservoirs replenishing levels rather than running quickly into the seas.

The long dry Summer (at least it has been at my end of Kent) turned out to be a blessing in disguise by providing a buffer to this recent wet spell. Just hope we don't end up with a winter like the last one where once it rains it won't stop for weeks on end.
