Still just short of 30° here but a good, clear rumble from towers just to the N. No strike registered so probably cloud to cloud.

On the wirral we are on what seems to be a convergence of 2 storms... constant rumbles. Flashes.. no rain

This has the potential to be epic.

Dark clouds to the south of here and still very warm 29.4C.

That storm to west is turning to a monster, looks like it will merge with the welsh system.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the French system. The channel is a worry though.

OK this system building from France has got my attention.

It appears to be building storms ahead of it in the channel.

The sky here looks very unstable. Let’s see what happens, but my interest has perked.

I dont really understand why storms leaving France would die out in the type of scenario we have at the moment yet the M.O show it fizzling out. There is plenty of heat and instabilityand falling pressure.

They're surface heat driven storms which loose their energy source upon entering the open waters.

The light has the most weird tinge, a sort of greeny-mustard hue. To my north... normal; to the south and west, leaden.

Almost constant rumbles. Could be in for another show tonight.

Noticing that on the EURO4 model as well, but for now this is how it feels like when watching the French stuff moving onto the Channel on radars . . .

I'm sure one day they will have the right conditions and make it in one preferably developing piece plus a traditional heavy metal display but maybe not today.

There again that little clump coming into the Plymouth area seem to have become more lively.

Live in hope of a lightning show but I wouldn't bet on it tonight for this part of Dorset.

It's like waiting for a snowstorm in the winter. Very rare here.

Definitely 😁

Being further from France along this way all i have is the remnant murkier high cloud stuff moving in. I am anticipating some rain from this but it'll probably be that big splat here & there stuff with little if anything thundery... and then it will explode back to life as it heads north of here.

The stuff coming up from France seems to be rapidly heading west too.

The cluster that's been over NE Wales refuses to budge. Even the stuff from the Midlands that's merged with it hasn't shunted it northwards.

East Cheshire, NE Wales and Shropshire look to be getting hammered.

Wow the radar is astonishing! That's a proper MCS if I've ever seen one!

The cynic in me thinks you're both right and that the Saints of this world will witness another fantastic light show later tonight while we enjoy a few blobs of rain in the next hour or two while the system recuperates before heading North.

Yes be thankful for small mercies even if the system reverts to type and fizzles out again.
