This is the current view to the North East. I don't think this can be the storm over West London, as that's to the East. Could be the one over Welwyn Garden City, which is a long way away?!

No rain here, but a few rumbles and a dark looking sky in the distance.

Just on the edge of that storm to the west of London quite regular thunder just had some very gusty winds too. No rain though.

Edit large rain drops now with hail. Weird hail very large clear ice chunks I’ve never seen it before. Making clonking sounds as it hits cars etc.

Line of heavy ppn (showing white on radar) moving roughly WNW; if it maintains intensity then it should start to affect a line between Alton and Bracknell quite soon. The Guildford cluster has mostly been just to the west of the city, on the higher ground n of Hog's Back.

Edit: does seem to be stalling around Guildford at the moment.

Frequent distant thunder audible now to the SE (probably the Aldershot cell). Still sunny here though, and 34.2C according to my PWS. I suspect that will be heading strongly southwards soon!

Metar report from Luton Airport a short while ago was 'thunderstorm, heavy rain, hail' and a temperature of 32°C. What must that be like?
