3 beefy but brief imports moved in from the continent with some thunder at 4.15pm. Its approach was all the more impressive and came out of nowhere after a day of unbroken sunshine and a maximum temperature of 25.0c just 20 mins before it struck.
I've just seen a distant lightning flash from the thunderstorm just NW of Stoke. That's a good 35 miles away from my location.
I can see lightning flashes from a storm just SE of Macclesfield at the moment. Hoping for something a little closer tomorrow!
Yes I've seen a lot of lightning from that over the last half an hour or so. Should have a video up later.
Lovely videos Bolty and Kev! Thanks!

Some good rumbles of thunder in the distance and getting closer. Still sunny here for now but I think it’s heading this way!
Send some this way, Caz!

No rain here but still hearing thunder. Sky is black to my West now, so I think it’s heading up the Pennines. Steve will probably get it in Sheffield!
