Was it a medicane that brought flash flooding to western Greece a few days ago? Or was that a stalled weather front?

What I would call a 'medicane precursor'. Had subtropical characteristics (and will be recorded on the medicane database) but was not a true medicane.

I'm not sure. I would guess it was written in a paper sometime in the 70s, that's how most of the nomenclature seems to have originated!

I'm not sure if this one is going to be that impressive- the 500mb temps aren't that low compared to the 850s and surface temps in that area. But if it does develop, why not give Marlo a fitting girlfriend- did it start in the Balearics area? Marjorie or Marjoram? (Marjoram being a Mediterranean herb, some common spelling with Majorca and Marlo. I can't believe I'm trying to think so deeply about it!

It's been an interesting but fairly indifferent medicane season and I know it's coming to the tail end of the season this month. However GFS has modelled a little low off the SE coast of Italy which drifts towards Cyprus over the next day or so. The 850s are fairly warm and the 500s below zero as it intensifies slightly. I was just wondering....?
