Just taken a screenshot of the Nor easter storm - look how marginal the rain/snow line is!?

Rain in southern New Jersey - Snow in north, Rain over DC now after sleet- Rain over Baltimore and Philadelphia - Heavy snow in NYC but rain only a couple miles to the south of Long Island. - Real wintry mix bag there!

Here is a webcam in the city of Ust-Kut in Siberia. It is the Lena Railway station on the East Siberian railway. Ust Kut sits on the banks of the Lena River.

I won't repeat my rant as it belongs in the rant thread but given many parts of the south saw no snow if any it was a slushy deposit which melted and cold rain for most Amsterdam (below sea level) has had a good covering of snow and a daytime high of -2c today 16/01/2021:

Maybe this has been on already, but I love clicking on this link, put the zoom up to 200% (so that I don't have to open up any windows) and catch the river levels around the UK.

Alert: I would have a look at Nashville webcam now!

Update: Thundering again! See https://www.earthcam.com/usa/tennessee/nashville/?cam=nashville. Although the webcam directs against a building, you can listen to thunder!

I've just noticed that the first snow of the winter has fallen to low levels in the north of Iceland. It will come and go for a few weeks before it tends to remain for the rest of the winter. Somewhat earlier than last year to when the first snow arrived I think in October.

I can imagine Beast enjoying the Beer Bath.

Bjórböðin ('Beer Bath') SPA opened in 2017 and offers visitors the unique opportunity to soak in a relaxing bath of young beer and live beer yeast.
