Maybe this has been on already, but I love clicking on this link, put the zoom up to 200% (so that I don't have to open up any windows) and catch the river levels around the UK.

I've just noticed that the first snow of the winter has fallen to low levels in the north of Iceland. It will come and go for a few weeks before it tends to remain for the rest of the winter. Somewhat earlier than last year to when the first snow arrived I think in October.

I can imagine Beast enjoying the Beer Bath.
Bjórböðin ('Beer Bath') SPA opened in 2017 and offers visitors the unique opportunity to soak in a relaxing bath of young beer and live beer yeast.

I was in northern Iceland in mid September two years ago and there was a bit of snow around. The hills surrounding Isafjordur (in the Westfjords) were dusted with white and I think we had a bit of snow falling even at sea level one evening. By the time we got to Akureyri a few days later it was actually pretty mild (mid to high teens) after a fairly potent front went through giving us a couple of days of torrential rain (heavy enough even for the Icelandic Met Office to put out warnings!).
Missed the beer bath though!

Near Myvatn there were underground natural hot springs under the old lava flow where you could soak your tired muscles - one for chaps, one for lasses and one mixed. I hear the water temp has become a bit too high for comfort since - I hope that's not true. They now have well organised "Nature Baths" - nice no doubt but it's not so primal!

By now there is usually a complete (but thin) snow cover but it has been a fairly mild autumn so far so this is happening a little later. Next week it's looking like sub-zero temperatures will return.

Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.

OK, here's an idea. Someone walks across the snow and compacts it under their feet. Then the wind picks up and drifts the dry snow towards the centre. However the compacted snow isn't light enough to be blown around and stays put, leaving the snowy footprints on the bare ground.
