From the data for Rovaniemi I can see that just a week ago they were on -30C.
Must be rather sad though to go somewhere like that and find only slush, hope it freezes up again in time for Christmas.

We went further about 250km further North at the start of December and about 25cm -30cm snow on the ground. We had about 12 hours at 1c but mostly between -5 and -24c. Very little melt when it was 1c, just a bit from trees.
But further south in Romaniemi there have been periods of a few days of positive temps, it can be expected there in December, January and February much more snow sure.

I’m not sure if this has already been posted in here but this live stream (Loch Morlich) shows the persistence of the cold inland near Aviemore over recent days. It’s a lovely part of the country.

*The lecht snow gate cam has snow on the ground and that's 570m so assume it's around that level give or take!
Looks like a digging out day again at the Ptarmigan Restaurant - something of an Augean stables moment I'd have thought!
