In the North of Finland. Arrived Friday in heavy snow, around 25cm level depth.  Yesterday we had around 12 hours of 1c with sleet or rain so it became slushy and started melting. Very unusual for this late in November.  Thankfully it is now 0c again with snow and temps will keep dropping .

However, a total of 4.5 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank which was actually quite a decent amount given that we're now less than a month away from the winter solstice with it being dark for most of the time now as a result.

The temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank reached 4.5°C during the daylight hours. That was too warm for today to go down as our coldest day of the autumn and in any case, the final stats for today will show that this won't actually matter in any way.

It's since clouded over here in Edinburgh and it's now raining as I write.

With that, it's also warmed up a bit again to around 4°C after getting down to around 1°C for a brief period of time. According to the forecasts, it's expected to warm up further during the night to around 8°C and since the official observation day starts and ends at 09:00 UTC, today's official maximum temperature will be determined by whatever it warms up to tonight, and not in any way by today's highest daytime temperature.

Of course, tomorrow is also the first day of what is supposed to be the meteorological winter and it's just like the thing that it's warming up just in time for that which is just typical of our weather here in the UK.🥵

Similar temp here but the moderate rain has passed by and just a few spots. A fresh SW breeze.

A weather warning for here but it will be for rain that's yet to develop or come in from the SW if that's the case?

Back to about the weather, dull and damp with that tiresome in-your-face southerly wind making the current 9.4 C feel quite cold. A comedown on yesterday's fine sunny conditions.

Last night, there was some overnight rain which started at around 3pm yesterday afternoon and then continuing throughout the night with a total of 17.2 mm of rain from that at Edinburgh Gogarbank. However, that rain has now cleared away to bring us into a bright and sunny start to this morning.

After a mild start to the night, the temperatures dropped a bit after the rain had cleared but only to a minimum of 5.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank which isn't even enough to bring us a ground frost, and so our frost-free (and snow-free) horror show goes on.🥵

Currently around 5°C here in Edinburgh and not even the least bit cold for this time of the year.🥵

-11.1c in Saariselka , Finland and 25cm level snow. We have had a couple of really cold days with -23c earlier this afternoon the minimum.

Snow is moving in from the South along with slightly milder temps. Will stay as snow here and up to -6c but rain further south .  Amber weather warning for the morning which will be fun.
