Nothing particularly exciting IMBY but at least wetter than the last amber warning 'event'!
Currently sat on 15.49mm of rain, the bulk of which fell from 04:00 to around 07:00 - have had a succession of mostly light to moderate showers since then but no thunder at all as far as I'm aware. Currently in a clearer patch and although there's a few echos heading my way they're of the 'light' variety so suspect that's largely it for the day.Â
Most of the stations within 10-15 miles of me seem to be between 10mm and 20mm, with the odd higher reading so a wet day so far but not exceptional. Interestingly the totals are generally higher the further east you head in Kent, to around Wye way anyway - given the main bulk of the rain was further west it suggests there's been some heavier showery bursts there than IMBY.
Assuming I don't manage to dodge the showers tomorrow, it does seem likely I'll end up exceeding last July's rainfall, which would mean both summer months IMBY are wetter than 2024, an amusing quirk albeit temps are significantly higher.Â
