Pretty bleak this morning - overcast, an easterly breeze, constant light rain for several hours, with many more hours' worth to come.

4.0, dew 3.3; the overnight low was -0.4 and yesterday's high was 6.5.

The only consolation to this perceived waste of a rare synoptic situation in winter is even without the 1.5C of warming in recent decades it'd still be too warm for snow.

Dull. Wet after 6.6 mm of rain has fallen so far today. 5.3 C & mid 90% H in light E breeze.

The perfect winter synoptics and this is what we have to show for it. Roll on Spring but feels like that is still a million miles away.

Dry and gloomy here, with an ENE'ly breeze. There's been rain to the SE for much of the morning and that's edging ever-closer - won't be long before it arrives!

4.4, dew 2.7, with temperatures having fallen gradually from a high of 5.7 in the early hours.

Like other Kent posters, reporting steady rain here all day.

I think this is my least favourite weather of all - an endless rain streamer now into its fourth day. In early February. Sunless, snowless and pointless.

At least it'll turn drier tonorrow and we won't be tormented by seeing the rain stream down, knowing full well that with a colder Continent there would have been close to a foot of snow lying by now.

I take Darren's point about it being (mostly) too mild for snow even if you knock off 1.5 degrees, but it seems all easterlies are like this now, except the BFTE and even that was a let down here because of the short sea rack.

I was wondering: is there a precedent for a rainy winter Easterly like this  before about ten years ago...as I cannot recall one. But maybe I've simply forgotten.

The high today has so far been 2.8c at 1:20am, most of the day hovering around 2.5c and down to 1.9c now

5.2mm of purely rain, a few splats of sleet on the car windscreen at lunchtime was all there was to get "excited" about...not!

Managed some sleet earlier but remained just a touch too warm for it to turn to snow.

Max temp of 3.8c just after midnight, daytime high of 2.7c.

Another somewhat miserable day!

2.9C. Cloudy and calm.

(Although it obviously hasn't, this weather feels like it's been hovering around these temperature conditions since the start of the year).

Scarce a frost but still sort of chilly and nothingness.
