Another important thing to take note of though as that the temperatures at the official stations such as Gogarbank are always recorded at a level which is 2m above the ground (someone might correct me as regards to the exact level but I do know that the thermometers need to be kept in the shade and at a certain level above the ground which is why the official stations use Stevenson's screens for that purpose).
If you have your own weather station and your thermometers are at a level which is lower than that, they will be more than likely to record lower readings under the current weather pattern as a result, thus making it more likely that they will continue to record sub-zero temperatures throughout today.
