2.9C with some quite heavy sleety rain the past hour - surprised to see it mostly through already on radar though, as forecast implied it would rain until at least 3pm.

Very hazy weak sun with patches of low cloud coming in from the sea. A freshening NE wind and feeling pretty cold despite the thermometer reading 6 C after this morning's minimum of -3 C. A chilly first day of meteorological Spring!

I did hear that rattling against my window here in the north of Edinburgh but when I looked outside, everything was just wet here.

Currently around 3°C here in Edinburgh as at 11pm GMT (23:00 UTC) tonight and given that it's no longer winter, it would just be like the thing if the temperature dropped by quite a bit during the rest of the night after refusing to do so for most of the winter.😡

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Overnight rain has cleared away here in Edinburgh with plenty of blue sky around although the Sun is still largely hidden behind some high to medium cloud cover to my east for now.

There was no frost last night though (not even a ground frost has been recorded on this occasion) but the temperature has dropped to around 1°C here in Edinburgh as at 8am GMT (08:00 UTC) this morning.

Mostly cloudy with some brightness, there is a strong onshore southerly wind (again) but at least it is helping to shift some of the dampness for now. 7.7 C.

Similar here - plenty of cloud but with the odd glimpse of the sun, 7.8 and a gusty southerly.

It's absolutely saturated out there following a few mm of rain overnight, such that the very ground squelches as you walk on it!

If anyone is interested, the rainfall radar (I use Netweather) shows the bands of rain rotating around the centre of the low pressure, which is at the moment just south of Worcester, tracking very slowly eastwards.

The two centres show up very well on the current satellite imagery.
