As per usual, I don't see any snow here in NW Edinburgh (that would just be too much to ask for nowadays, even at this time of the year.😡).

Last night was colder than it has been for a while with an official air frost at all three of my local stations.

However, the temperature was already back above freezing, long before sunrise due to some cloud cover.😡

This morning has now started off on a bright and sunny note with a temperature of around 2°C here in Edinburgh which for this time of year, isn't even all that cold.😡
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

There must have been a 30 second (max) snow shower in that too - I went outside and the car had a smattering on it and the grass - had melted everywhere else

A cold and frosty start to today here in Edinburgh with an oficial air frost at all three of my local stations.

This then led us into a bright and sunny start to today although it has now clouded over.

Currently around -1°C here in Edinburgh as at 9:30am GMT (09:30 UTC) this morning.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Never seen rain turn to snow so quickly. Gone from rain at 10am to already a dusting now.

Evap cooling must have happened upstream and advection brought it over.

This is absolutely bonkers, I've never seen rain->nearly 1cm in about 30 minutes.

Snow is not even that heavy.

The actual sleet phase only lasted 3 minutes.

As bad as it gets. 5.6C moderate rain. After a dry start to February the last three days have been one of the wettest spells of this awful winter - over an inch of rain now in the last three days.

Light non threatening snow here in Leeds, 50m asl. The MetO automatic forecast has, if anything, doubled down with snow forecast for the next eight hours and with a drop of 1C to zero, presumably due to evaporative cooling as the heavier precipitation to the south arrives?

However dealing with things as they are it's just a bit of a pants day. The rain just looks a bit prettier than normal😃
