I've just noticed that DEW hasn't started this week's thread (he may well be away somewhere, or some unexpected circumstances may well have cropped up) and since no-one else has done so of yet, I may as well have the honour of starting this week's thread on this occasion (I'm sure that DEW (or another mod) will then lock the old thread when they have the chance to do so).

Anyway, this morning started out fairly bright here in Edinburgh with even a little bit of sunshine although it is now rather cloudy.

At the same time, our frost-free horror show goes on😡 with a temperature of around 7°C here in Edinburgh as at 9:30am GMT (09:30 UTC) this morning.

Is this a named storm today? Because it's seriously gusty here at the moment, more so than some of the other named storms this season.

Currently 10°C, with winds gusting into the 50s.

There are no official Met Office warnings for wind anywhere in the UK just now, but this is perhaps an occasion when such warnings should have been issued as it is a very wild and noisy night here in Edinburgh with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to 60.9 mph from the west.

This actually makes today our second windiest day of this year so far as well, coming second to those 70+ mph gusts which we had with Storm Isha during January.

In addition to that, it's also very mild (almost ridiculously so yet again)😡 with temperatures of around  10°C as at 11pm GMT (23:00 UTC) tonight.

It's also mostly overcast and there was also some rain around for a while which has just cleared away to our north.

Met Office must have got tired of doing wind warnings it was well over 60mph several times overnight and only eased slightly this morning.
