Storm Ingunn, named by the Norwegian Met Office

This storm is getting scary here. Gusts are now up to 50-60 mph through the Central Belt. You can hear the gusts coming from afar then they hit the house more with an actual collision rather than the usual roar. The bigger trees on either side of the house are being tossed around with sizeable branches coming off

I wonder whether the Met Office has underestimated this one?

Another totally cool cloudy day here. 8C. I'd expected so much more from this week in terms of sunshine and mildness. Has reached 12C but hasn't felt it with wind and cloud and last week was actually milder.

White Rabbits!!

We have now just entered into the final month of the metorological winter but despite some overnight clear skies along with lighter winds, our frost-free horror show goes on without even as much as a ground frost.😡

Today has started off on a bright and sunny note though.

Currently around 5°C here in Edinburgh and not even the least bit cold for this time of the year.😡
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Week 2 in Malaga. Last week was glorious with pretty much unbroken sunshine and temperatures into the 20s, peaking at 25C

This week we have been plagued by Mediterranean gloom! A steady easterly wind has brought low cloud onto the south east coast of Spain since Monday. Each day has been overcast here near the coast with some late bright periods. Inland, early cloud has burnt away to leave sunny conditions.
Temperatures here have been around 16 or 17C each day this week so it feels like early June in the south east of England when we get stubborn North Sea low cloud.

I expect in a few weeks time, similar synoptics would result in the cloud breaking as the sun gets stronger, even on the coast.

You can see the cloud radar here ....

A wet windy morning - we gave up on a walk along the Witham - but suddenly it turned into a bright warm sunny day! Delightful. 13decC here now. A gentle breeze moves the local flags.  😁

Candlemas Day, or Groundhog Day, for those across the pond. With regards to the lore, I'm not sure which applies this year as it's had a bit of sunshine and a bit of grey/wetness as well:
